Aw, Fuck!
I can't believe that the "people have spoken" and we get another moron
in office. Haven't we learned our lesson? Apparently
not. We (I am speaking as the "average american") do not put a
whole lot of effort or thought into a lot of what we do. We don't
want to take the time to actually do the research needed to make a
truly informed vote. Instead, the A.A. has decided to listen to
10-second soundbites and vote for popularity. This might be okay
for the average highschool, but when it comes to anything that really
matters, like local, state or federal level, we need to have a teeny
bit more.
Arnold was elected simply because he is well known, and was able to
manipulate the people, with the complicity of the media. He never
said anything of substance, never revealed anything close to a
plan, like real candidates should do. Instead he gave us
platitudes and said things like "It's time to clean house!" as he
grabbed a broom, or "I'll say 'Hasta la vista, baby!' to the
deficit." So, that's what the people voted for. That's what
they wanted. And that's what they got. The next three years
will be interesting.
As the Chinese proverb goes, "May you live in interesting times."
