SPACE
AND HUMAN EXPLORATION
Space has fascinated humanity
since
the first primitive humans looked up and wondered about the bright
points
of light and the curve of the moon. Our first ideas were crude,
and
loaded with myth and superstition. As our experience and
technology
increased, so did our understanding of what was going on "out there".
Only now, in the last half
of
the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st, have we had the ability
to actually enter space and explore it directly. It has turned
out to be
one of the most wonderous journeys that humanity has ever embarked upon.
